I am delighted to see that our rich heritage is finally gaining traction in the broader jewish community. We are seeing the younger generation take initiative to ensure that our beautiful history and traditions carry on. As the daughter of one of the founders of our Sephardi community, I watched with pride over the past 50 years as my father, Maurice Benzacar, selflessly devoted his life professionally and as a layperson to preserving our traditions and history.

I’m happy to hear that our young Jewish youth is learning about Sephardic Jewish life. I hope one day their will be other classes on Jews from Arab lands. Eg. The Kurdish Jews spoke in Aramaic. The language used in Talmud.
