What an unusual, and potentially exciting, course. It is too bad that distance between us makes commuting to the classes impossible. I wonder if you have spoken with Professor Emeritus Paul Socken of Waterloo-Kitchener, who lives in Toronto, and who has translated a remarkable Canadian novel by Yves Theriaud, “Aaron”, that treats the Montreal Jewish generation gap in a beautiful piece of fiction. I myself hope that I will be able to receive a syllabus of this course because it has piqued my interest — especially, when I think of Longfellow’s classical poem recalling the “exodus” of the Acadiens from the yoke of (British) pharonic oppression. Now there will be an academic course about the “other” people of Zion in the history of Quebec.
