The new “school” would actually be two classes of secondary 1 students (60 students) sharing space with two existing EMSB schools. The Palatucci Facility is home to Marymount
Adult Centre, which has a day programme for handicapped adults, and John Grant
High School for students with special needs. The building is also being
renovated to provide proper wheel chair access for physically-handicapped CARE
students who will be moving to the building. The programs for all these students are growing.

If the new school grew, Marymount Adult Centre would be moved, and John Grant and the new school would remain. Would either Richler or Layton want his name attached to a school whose development and growth would require the relocation of a handicapped student population?
