Skrillex to headline Israeli EDM festival at Masada

One of the biggest names in the EDM (electronic dance music) scene, Skrillex announced this week that he will serve as the main headline act at this year’s Minus 424 festival in Israel, taking place on Oct. 5.

Now in its third year, the festival is located at the base of the historical Masada, which is 424 metres below sea level (hence the festival’s name).

Zedd, a DJ of Russian-German descent, was announced as co-headliner.

Last year, another iconic DJ, David Guetta, entertained some 13,000 concertgoers who arrived for the 12-hour 'Dead Sea rave'.

Since rising to immense popularity, Skrillex has won six Grammy awards for his work on albums Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites and Bangarang.

Minus 424 festival is organized in conjunction with MTV Israel, the Tamar Regional Council, Israel’s tourism ministry, and several other production companies.

Regular tickets are available for NIS 219 (roughly $75 CAD), while VIP passes will run attendees some NIS 690 ($235 CAD).
