The Bnei Akiva Schools of Toronto – Yeshivat Or Chaim and Ulpanat Orot – are organizing a “twitter-fest” for Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel Independence Day. The Jewish state celebrates its 65th birthday on April 16 – the holiday begins the evening before.

The school is asking for tweets of Israel-related thoughts, memories, photos and experiences, and has announced a hashtag for the project – #yha5773 – so that contributions are searchable.

The tweets will be streamed online throughout the day.

The school ran a similar project last year for Yom Yerushalayim, Jerusalem Day.
