The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre’s annual Holocaust Education Series, on until Nov. 4, begins with a film about Raoul Wallenberg, The Angel of Budapest, 7 p.m. at the Espace Reunion, 6600 Hutchison St., followed by a talk by MP Irwin Cotler. BOYS OF ESPLANADE

There are only 77 seats at the Segal Centre CinemaSpace for the Nov. 3, 8 p.m. screening of The Boys of Esplanade. The 53-minute documentary, produced in 1992 by Nick Pfefer and the late Martin Lubin for an academic conference, takes a nostalgic look back at a stretch of Esplanade Avenue between Mount Royal and Marie Anne, an area teeming with Jews that included onetime Superior Court Judge Herbert Marx and ex- B’nai Brith Canada president Gerry Weinstein, some of whom will take part in a discussion afterward. WALK IN THE PARK

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Mount Sinai Hospital’s Healing Garden was the site of a recent non-denominational Celebration of Life ceremony in memory of patients who died over the past year. The event, part of the Mount Sinai’s bereavement program, was attended by families, friends and hospital staff.
