York Regional Police are appealing for witnesses, after two young girls were approached by three females in a car in Vaughan, Ont.

At about 6 p.m. on July 18, police say that two young girls were riding their scooters on Atkinson Avenue, in the area of Rodeo Drive, when a vehicle stopped on the road.

Surveillance video shows the vehicle stopped near the girls, who were on the sidewalk. The girls reversed direction and attempted to flee, when a female exited the rear of the vehicle and ran toward them. One of the girls fell to the ground.

The female who approached them eventually returned to the vehicle and drove away.

Police are asking the occupants of the vehicle to come forward, Const. Andy Pattenden told The CJN.

Police say that three females were in the vehicle. They are described as black, 18 to 22 years old and they spoke English with no accents. The vehicle is described as white with four doors.
