The Original Women of the Wall argued in their petition that “the Kotel is not a synagogue.” Why then did the Israeli Supreme Court rule in favour of women reading from the Torah in the women’s section of the Kotel? If the Kotel is not a synagogue, there is no place there for public Torah readings which are only read in synagogues, unless one is sitting shiva, G-d forbid. You can’t have your cake and eat it too!

Firstly I don’t see what the hole problem is on either side….. Both sides are being suspicious and manipulative in their true intensions……. If the Wall area is a public space then what’s the problem??? If its a Holy space, which is outside of the temple mount even…. Then it should be explained as that….. It sounds to me that one or the other or both sides don’t understand what they are even talking about

    • Actually this has nothing to do with religious law, but legal. The top court made a ruling and if Israel is a country of laws, then it must abide

It sounds like ignorance on both sides. If I were to come to the wall….. I have no problem in the any type of strict laws that their are and abiding in it……. I don’t want to make a show… Neither should it be made as a show….. Speaking in the view of Holiness and Sacredness… That being said….. ignorance and male superiority sometimes walk hand and hand to a corruptive point of view, and selfishness itself……. Women in Ancient times and today had every right to be at this place, and give their devotions and penance to God too…. Or have we forgotten that God created women too.
