A record crowd of about 30,000 participants marched in support of the LGBTQ community at the Pride parade in Jerusalem yesterday. Participants encouraged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign over the surrogacy law and carried signs protesting the nation-state law.

Hamas officials are considering an Egyptian-backed offer for a five-year truce with Israel that would put an end to the violence at the Gaza border and partially lift the Israeli-Egyptian blockade. The truce would go into effect in stages. The first stage would be the end of the provocations, such as the flaming kites, along the border.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s daughter and senior adviser Ivanka Trump said she does not believe the media are the “enemy of the people,” in contrast to her father’s rhetoric. He is currently under fire for repeatedly using that phrase. At an event yesterday organized by Axios, a political newsletter, she said, “No, I do not feel that the media is (sic) the enemy of the people.”

Vivian Bercovici, former Canadian ambassador to Israel, is suing the federal government, alleging she was undermined in her post and is owed pension funds. In a 37-page statement of claim filed in the Ontario Superior Court late last month, Bercovici alleges she was treated in bad faith and accused Ottawa of several breaches of duty.
