• Professor Noodles! Whoops, I mean Rabbi Noodles.  It’s always easier to draw positive attention by pointing out the shortcomings of another or The Other.  I’d like to see a story or column, let alone a book that outlines how Kosher laws are tied to the nature of the human body.  Each letter in the Aleph-Bet has its own “nature”. Know the nature of the letters and you know the nature of the word.  That being, why are natural foods like asparagus Kosher some years and not allowed in other years: When Diet Pop with Aspartame, a chemical that turns into formaldehyde when digested is “Kosher”?  And with Passover around the corner millions of liters of Coka Cola, an addictive and through wrecking ball to the digestive and immune system, are deemed Kosher for Passover.  What the Hell-acha is going on?  As for Jesus, how about considering that Rabbi’s teachings as a way for Jews to conduct themselves in the diaspora, without a central temple?

      Jesus didn’t claim he is
      the messiah.

As for Jesus, how about considering that
Rabbi’s teachings as a way for Jews to conduct themselves in
the diaspora, without a central temple?  This is right question to be
      considered very seriously.

Before you read Gospels you must understand that Gospels are
written with the sole intention to make you believe that Jesus is the Christ
and He is son of God. In
the gospel of John it is very clearly stated that  ”these are written that you may believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,” So after reading Gospels if you think Jesus claimed or Jesus
believed he is the messiah it shows the victory of Gospel writers,  they wanted to make you believe so. Only very
careful study of Gospel will reveal what was the mission of Jesus. And then
only you will understand Jesus never thought or claimed he is the messiah in
the sense a “savior “. And you Jews know that Messiah has no such meaning as a
      “Savior”.

Jesus’s response to the Samaritan woman at the well “I am
      he”?

Jesus never took the word Messiah in the sense a savior. When he
said “I am He “ Jesus meant that he is the prophet about whom Moses foretold in
these words,” The LORD your God will raise
up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.  For
this is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly
when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God nor see this
great fire anymore, or we will die.”  The LORD said to me: “What they say is good.  I will raise up for them a prophet like
you from among their brothers; I will put my words in
his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.  If anyone does not listen to my
words that the prophet speaks in my name, I
myself will call him to account”   The
only claim Jesus made about himself is that He is that prophet and not messiah
in the sense a Savior or son of god. That is why he claimed “  If
you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.  But
since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I
say?”  Can you honestly answer his
      question?

Peter answered to Jesus ” you are The Christ the son of the
      LIving G-d”.:-

Peter believed that Jesus is the messiah just like other Jews
that is why he followed Jesus. . See Mark and Luke says hearing the answer of
Peter Jesus strictly warned and commanded to tell this to no one. (Luke.9:20) Not
to tell what ? Jesus strictly warned and commanded them you should tell
no one that he was Jesus the Christ”.(Mt.16:20)

Mathew says Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of
Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And
I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the
gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of
heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you
loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”Mt.16:17-19.   This is a gloss.  See other
gospels, Mark and Luke . They didn’t say Jesus gave such a reply.

See  in Mark  Peter answered “ You are the Christ” (
In Luke and in Mark Peter didn’t say Jesus is the son of god) In Mathew “ the
son of living god also is a gloss. Just other Jews Peter also believed Jesus  is the messiah and he simply said it to
Jesus. Since it was a wrong belief Jesus strictly commanded them They should
tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ. And nowhere it is written in the New
Testament that Jesus revoked that command. Then why Peter and other apostles preached
Jesus is the Christ and son of God? It had a very special purpose and Jesus
selected the 12 knowing what they will do after his death. Remember .Jesus had
said  “I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen”.
Yes Jesus knew what Peter and others will do.

It is interesting, not God as stated in Mathew but it is his
brother Andrew who revealed to Peter that Jesus is Messiah. ” John 1:40
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said
and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his
brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the
      Christ)  See here
also messiah is interpreted as Christ.

       When Jesus came preaching
the kingdom of God contemporary Jews flocked around him
wrongly believing he is the Messiah. They even tried to make him their king.
But Jesus refused it.. Romans saw the new developments. They heard the Jews speaking
about Jesus that he is their messiah. Naturally Romans caught Jesus and
crucified him on the cross and wrote his accusation “ King of the Jews”. It
doesn’t mean Jesus claimed he is the messiah. It means Romans also mistook
Jesus that is why they crucified Jesus.

Origin of the belief in a “king messiah” started with the
promise God gave to David. That promise was conditional one. See David
understood it as a conditional one, David said to Solomon,”  “I am about to go the way
of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, show yourself a man, and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you
go, and that the LORD may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on
      the throne of Israel.’..

Salomon also understood it as conditional one, Solomon prayed to
God,”  “Now LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, ‘You shall never fail to have a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in all they do to walk before me as you have done.’ . You know more than me many times sons of David failed to fulfill the condition.. So God is not bound to keep the promise.

       But the Jews wrongly
believed that promise is an unconditional promise and they began to interpret
scripture in such a way that God is bound to provide them a “King Messiah” in
the lineage of David. This wrong belief prompted the Psalmist to says Yahweh
broke his promise,” But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very
angry with your anointed one. You have renounced the covenant with your servant
and have defiled his crown in the dust.”   Do you also think God failed to
keep his promise? Is it not better to think we failed to understand that the promise
God gave to David was conditional one, yes David and Solomon understood it as a
conditional one. But some of the Jews wrongly interpreted it as an
unconditional promise and that wrong interpretation culminated in Christian
      Religion.

Jesus questioned the centuries old Jewish tradition that an
individual will come as Messiah in the sense a savior or king messiah.( See
Mathew 22: 42-45) Even now can you Jews tolerate one who say  your belief that an individual will come as
messiah ( king Messiah or savior) is wrong one? If some of the extremely
orthodox Jews wanted to eliminate Jesus why should we wonder and blame them?  Jesus told the Jews no individual will come
as messiah in the sense a savior and who or what will come is the Kingdom of God.

Contemporary Jews failed to understand his message but is it not
time to examine and analyze the teaching of Jesus without any prejudice?

  • Daniel_Paul_K

    Kosher Jesus.

Jews and Christians see Jesus in the same way blind people see an elephant.

“Whowas Jesus of Nazareth?  Shmuley Boteach’s
view that  Jesus’ goal was fighting against Rome, and he stayed that course till the bitter end is wrong.
The christian view that Jesus is the messiah, son of God and god also is wrong, it also serves for the
    character assassination of Jesus.

Jesus  plainly says he is not the messiah by saying  He has not come to bring peace but a sword.
This is the sword prophesied by all prophets and not a sword to fight Romans.

Jesus didn’t claim he is the son of God or God. Jesus simply claims he is the prophet about whom Moses wrote in the scriptures. Hear the words of Jesus:- If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I
say?”  St Peter also says the same thing about Jesus. See Acts 3:22,23. But who cares.

Dogma produced by St Paul is the culmination of wrong interpretation of
Bible. Wrong interpretation of Bible started after the death of David and
Solomon and not from the birth of Christian religion

Belief in a king messiah ( savior) is based on the promise God gave to David. That promise was a conditional one. David and Solomon understood it as a conditional promise. See 1Kings.2:1-3 & 8:25. Sons of David failed to fulfill the condition and there by God is not bound to keep the promise god made to David.

But overzealous Jews in inadvertently interpreted that the promise god gave to David is an absolute one. There started the wrong interpretation of Bible and it culminated in making Jesus the king messiah. The wrong interpretation of Bible gradually developed in to Christian dogma provided by St.Paul. It was not something suddenly happened. Gospels are the vain exercise to make Jesus the messiah and truth about Jesus is hidden in the gospels. But Gospel writers  became successful in making others believe Jesus claimed He is the messiah. That is why erudite Jewish Rabbis also believe Jesus claimed he is the messiah where as truth is just opposite to it.

    The
belief that an individual in the lineage of David would come as the messiah is
wrong. That is what Jesus says. It seems that Jesus is the first Jew who questioned
the centuries old Jewish tradition and told the Jews no individual will come as
messiah, who or what will come is the kingdom of god.

    When
Peter told Jesus,” you are the Christ” Jesus strictly charged his
disciples that they should tell no one that he Jesus the Christ. Not only that
Jesus warned the Jews,” Watch out that no one deceives you.  For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am
the Christ, ‘ and will deceive many.” See, I have told you ahead of
time.  “So if anyone tells you,
‘There he is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner
    rooms,’ do not believe it.

    Ironically
Christians made this Jesus himself the messiah and astonishingly prophecy of
Jesus that Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name,
claiming, ‘I am the Christ, ‘ and will deceive many” fulfills in
Christians. The Christians are deceiving Jews and gentiles alike preaching Jesus is  Messiah, son of god and god. Let  Kosher Jesus be  the first step to reveal the  prophet Jesus hidden in the gospels.
