On behalf of the government of Ontario, I am delighted to extend warm greetings to members of the Jewish community as they mark Pesach. Religious pluralism has played a major role in shaping our unique identity as a province. I would like to thank Ontario’s Jewish community for enriching our multifaith society, and to acknowledge its invaluable contributions to the social, cultural and economic life of our province.
The story of Passover is one of redemption and freedom, themes that are central to this important family celebration and much-loved holiday. And it is a festival that is rich in meaning and in ritual, evoking, among other things, fond memories of seders past, the joy that only a gathering of family can bring and the passing down of cherished traditions from generation to generation. I wish all members of our province’s Jewish community a Pesach filled with happiness. Chag Kasher v’Samayach!
Premier of Ontario
