• Absolutely agree here. I’ve been on both sides, and I have rejected hiring someone because either they have crazy stupid pictures on their social media sites or because they think tattoos up their neck and near their face is going to be something that an executive of a Fortune 500 company is going to okay with. In some areas of business it is imperative that they keep a clean appearance both physically and on the social media side.

    On the other side, I took a consulting job and I clearly laid out my social media sites – gave them URL’s, explained why I maintained them, but when push came to shove and their social media expert knew less about the content that I did, they did not extend my contract because I was too well known for them and they didn’t want anyone associating my social media thoughts and comments with their line of business.

    It goes both ways.
