SNL’s slew of Emmys deserved? As you might’ve heard, SNL was one of the shows that cleaned up at last night’s Emmy Awards. This Guardian writer crankily opines that the smattering of awards it and shows like The Handmaid’s Tale won were undeserved.

Swedish neo-Nazis gear up for Yom Kippur: In Sweden, dozens of members of the neo-Nazi group the Nordic Resistance Movement marched in the streets this weekend. Though they reportedly did not have a permit this time, they do, apparently, have a permit in place for a planned demonstration near the city’s main synagogue on Yom Kippur.

Rabbinical courts going blacklist happy? New data is pointing to the fact that Israel’s rabbinical courts are increasingly placing  Israelis with Jewish heritage who emigrated from other countries on lists that are meant to prevent them from marrying Jews. 

Hot, but racist: The so-called Gainesville, Fla. “hot cop” – a police officer whose image went viral after Facebook photos of him and fellow cops helping the community in the wake of Hurricane Irma make the rounds online – has been suspended from the force without pay. Turns out, good looks don’t mean you’re not a bigot.
