Child abduction attempt in heart of Jewish community

TORONTO — Toronto police reported an attempted abduction of a seven-year-old boy near Yeshivat Or Chaim, in the heart of Downsview’s Jewish community, on Friday, May 10.

The attempt, made near the Almore Avenue and Faywood Boulevard area, occurred at 4:40 p.m.

Toronto Police’s Division 32 reported that it wanted to make the public aware of the “suspicious incident.”

According to police, a man driving a vehicle stopped and asked the seven−year−old boy to get in the car.

The man then opened the rear driver’s−side door, and the boy ran inside his home. The man then drove off.

The suspect is described as black, 50 to 60 years old, with a heavy build and black curly hair. His vehicle is described as a small black car, possibly a Toyota.
