‘Morning. Here’s some Jewish news:

The Oscar nominations have once again descended from on high, and this morning’s list includes Jewish composer and Harvard grad Justin Hurwitz’s City of Stars, nominated for best original song, which Hurwitz composed for the big box musical La La Land, and for which Benj Pasek, also Jewish, and Justin Paul wrote the lyrics. The film’s director Damien Chazelle met Hurwitz when the two were Harvard men and played in the same band.

Jared Kushner’s younger brother Joshua was spotted at Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington. According to a Vanity Fair piece, a source close to the younger Kushner said Josh wasn’t present to participate, but had left his hotel to go for a walk and was spotted taking in the scene by a photographer.
