Quebec’s Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux has added a kosher restaurant in Montreal to the list of locations where exposure to the measles virus may have occurred.

Staff and customers at Pizza Pita, a kosher restaurant on Decarie Boulevard, were potentially exposed to measles between 4 to 6 p.m. on June 26, when a person who contracted the disease spent time there.

As of July 10, the list contains 11 locations that may have been exposed to measles, along with the times of the exposures. A spokesperson for the Quebec health ministry advised all people who visited the affected areas during the specified hours to verify their vaccination status and look out for any symptoms.

If a person who has been in one of those places on the days and hours mentioned develops measles symptoms (high fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, general discomfort, followed by a rash on the face and body), he or she should call Info-Santé 811, said a ministry spokesperson.
