Israel will grant temporary residency status to approximately 300 Sudanese refugees. This humanitarian visa is offered to refugees from regions where genocide has occurred, including Darfur, the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot has declined to host  next year’s Eurovision Song Competition in Israel due to prior commitments and scheduling conflicts. Israel won the right to host the 2019 contest by winning this year’s competition.

A banner for Jewish Heritage Month was removed at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute in Toronto by faculty on Tuesday. The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) issued an apology for this decision. An after-school protest was held by students and parents.

Israel’s Rabbinical Courts rejects the authority of rabbis that received their ordination from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah in New York. Rabbi Asher Ehrentreu, a senior member of the administration of the Rabbinical Courts, wrote the document in March.
