Recall of kosher veal due to listeria risk

The Quebec Ministry of Agriculture and the City of Montreal’s food inspection division have issued a warning not to consume roast veal sold at Boucherie et Charcuterie Kascher J & R Inc., due to a listeria risk.

The products in question were sold at the Quartier Cavendish establishment until Feb. 5 and bear a best-before date of March 5, 2018.

The veal was sold in both packaged and cut-to-order form, under the label of J & R Kosher Meat & Delicatessen, which agreed to a voluntary recall as a precaution.

No cases of illness have been reported.

Anyone with the product is advised to return it to J & R, or throw it out.
