V-E Day Remembered

Jewish war veteran Ed Wolkove, right, and Sidney Margles, vice-president of the Côte St. Luc Senior Men’s Club, place a wreath at the cenotaph in Côte St. Luc during a commemoration of V-E Day,  when Germany surrendered on May 8, 1945, ending World War II in Europe. The commemoration was organized by the Brig. Frederick Kisch branch of the Royal Canadian Legion with the city, and included an address by Israeli Consul General Yoram Elron, among other dignitaries.
