So basically just a world without Israel. “Another world is needed – together it is possible!” Such is the tagline of the World Social Forum, being held in Montreal from tomorrow Aug. 9 until Aug. 14. While the event bills itself as an opportunity to discuss the “most pressing social issues,” many Jewish groups, including the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), are skeptical due to the presence of groups known to be inimical to the Jewish state. Among the headlines of this year’s edition is a call for “mobilization for a world without apartheid.”

The World Social Forum is held annually. This is the first year it's being held in a "northern" country.

Barely scratching the surface of that multi-million dollar terror tunnel. According to an ex Shin Bet chief and senior Member of Knesset, the alleged funnelling of tens of millions of dollars from the humanitarian charity organization World Vision to Hamas – the terrorist group that rules over Gaza – is only the tip of the iceberg re: the “massive abuse of aid cash” intended for citizens of Gaza. For example, I’m sure you’ve wondered where Mahmoud Abbas got the money for his $13 million (U.S.) mansion (that he has no problem sleeping in while his own people make do in the rubble). The MK went so far as to say all workers of the UN in Gaza are members of Hamas. Chilling thought, but not so far-fetched.

You’re never too old for Snapchat. Shimon Peres is famous for being one of the few seniors who has a handle on the high-tech industry. A staunch advocate for Israel as the ‘Startup Nation,’ he’s now proven, unequivocally, his profound connection to young people – by getting Snapchat. That’s right, you can find the former Israeli president, who recently celebrated his 93rd birthday, at @Shimon_Peres. If you snap him, just keep it #SFW would ya?

I turned down a lot of money for this. Israel’s newly appointed basketball star, Amar’e Stoudemire, really wants people to know he loves Israel, so much, in fact, that he turned down heaps of money in order to join Hapoel Jerusalem (the team he partially owns). “I turned down a lot of money in the NBA to play for Israel, so it’s not about the money at all, it’s about winning championships,” he said in an interview with Walla. He also mentioned his goal to bring more international basketball players to the Jewish state. “Hopefully it opens the doors for others to come here,” he said.

Most likely Donald Trump’s biggest supporters. The Ku Klux Klan is at it again, this time circulating fliers around New York State that read, “Wake up white America! Jews control the money in America. Period. End of Story” or,  “Zionist Jews own and run the Federal Reserve Bank. Join us to stop Zionist control over your government.”

Klansman obviously don’t take to dialogue much.

Naturally, the leaflets promote “white pride” and also attack members of the LGBTQ community, particularly transgenders. “These freaks are jeopardizing the safety of bathrooms all across the nation for our women and children. This needs to stop.” Remember, these people are openly supporting Donald Trump for president. #justsaying

Entourage – Israeli style. Jeremy Piven finally made it to Israel and, wouldn’t you know it, as a member of Omri Casspi’s delegation to Israel, no less. Piven became a Bar Mitzvah in Jerusalem (for his second time), sharing an enthusiastic post on Instagram. In this version of Entourage, it seemed Casspi played the role of Vince, Amar’e Stoudemire was E, Rudy Gay, Chris Copeland and Shawn Marion were Turtle, and three-time UFC champion Georges St-Pierre took the role of Drama. Piven, obviously, reprised his role as Ari Gold, perhaps the best fictional Jewish television character of all time.

Today I became a man (again) Special time in Jerusalem… #onceinalifetime #MazelTov
